Working together for success and happiness

Thursday 7th Jan

Reading

Read pages 1 and 2 of Charlotte's Web. BUT! Do not read any further!

Today, we would like you to make some predictions and think about what happens next in the text. Don't read further as it'll give it all away!

The task sheet below asks you to continue the story. Think about what action could happen next or what characters may say to each other!

English

In English today, we will be continuing our new writing sequence all about BARN OWLS!

This will all lead up to writing a factual report all about Barn Owls.

We will begin the sequence like we always do, by developing and learning all of the vocabulary to do with our topic.

Today, we would like you to imagine you are meeting an owl expert and able to ask them lots of questions to continue your research. Your task is to write a selection of questions you would want to ask an owl expert if you were to meet one. Then, choose 3 of your questions to research online and find the answers to if you can.

You're slowly becoming an owl expert yourself!

Keep your list of questions safe for when you return to school to discuss in class.

Maths

This half term we will be focusing on 'Multiplication and Division'.

This morning we would like you to look at: Multiplying 2-digits by 1-digit (session 1)

Watch the video first. You will need to keep pausing this to have a go at the tasks.

There are slides too (same as the video) if you need to look at this more slowly and carefully.

Then, complete the worksheet. Look at the questions on a screen and write your answers on paper. Remember, the later questions are normally problem solving and reasoning questions so give these your best shot. You may need a little bit of adult explanation for these.
