Working together for success and happiness

26/1/22

English

In English we are going to write the next paragraph of our newspaper report. In this paragraph, you need to describe the bus careering down the street! Remember to stay in third person and past tense. You could include a quote from the bus driver as well.

Here is the paragraph from the WAGOLL to help you. You could use the same sentence starters as well.

It seems that the driver of the number 227 bus lost control of his vehicle when he turned onto the High Street itself. “I still don’t know what happened,” said Mr Harris about the near disaster. “It was a normal day until I turned the corner when the brakes snapped and the wheel span dangerously out of my hands!” He continued to say that there was nothing he could do to stop the bus from careering down the road apart from hoot his horn to warn people to get out of the way. Things got worse as the bus crashed into cars and snapped off expensive wing mirrors and personalised hubcaps.

Remember to try to include some of the vocabulary you practised spelling!

Maths

For the next few weeks or so we will be focusing on 'Multiplication and Division'.

This morning we would like you to look at: Multiplying 2 digits by a 1 digit number

Watch the video first. You will need to keep pausing this to have a go at the tasks.

Spr4.3.3 - Divide 3-digits by 1-digit

This is "Spr4.3.3 - Divide 3-digits by 1-digit" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Afternoon Activity - Art

1) Our topic this half term is all about food so you are going to do some art based on this! Can you design a piece of pizza and draw all the toppings around the outside? Can you label the toppings with where in the world you think they are grown/made?

2) Choose some two or three items of food from home. Can you arrange and draw them using observational techniques? You can make them bright and colourful like below if you wish!
