Frequently asked questions

Do you offer a breakfast club at Clowne Junior school?

We currently share our breakfast and after school provisions with the Infant school. The infant school host a breakfast club for both the Infant and Junior children each morning which is based at their site. The after school club is based at the Junior school site and more information can be found in the school prospectus.

Breakfast club information:

The session runs from 7:30am - 8:30am by the Infant school.

If you are interested in registering your interest with the breakfast club, please send a message to the following email address: info@clowne-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk

We host Magic Breakfast at Clowne Junior School from 8:30am. This enables children to collect a free breakfast every morning before going into class, giving them a great start to their school day.

Magic Breakfast

Clowne Junior School has teamed with the ‘Magic Breakfast’ Project to enable us to offer a free breakfast for ALL children every day. Research shows that a healthy breakfast improves children’s ability to learn and engage in all aspects of school life.
The range of breakfast options we have available are:

  • Kellogg’s cereals
  • New York Bagels
  • Warburton’s crumpets
  • Toast
  • Beans

We also have butter, jam and milk available to accompany the breakfast. Purple cups and spoons are used for the cereal and beans and we have designated Magic Breakfast bins for any food waste or used cups/spoons. Magic Breakfast starts at 8:30am and stops being served at 8:50am. Children come through the hall door, ‘grab’ their breakfast and eat it on the way to their lines.

If your child is late, we have a box in reception where breakfast can be collected whilst signing in.

Please ensure we have up to date allergy information.

When will I find out which class/house my child is in?

We will be issuing which class your child is in on 5th July 2024.

Your child's house will be printed on a letter inside the Transition Pack you have received. Should you have misplaced this, please contact the School Office so you know which colour PE shirt your child will require.

Summer Projects

Below are some activities that can be completed during the Summer. These are optional activities but we would encourage you to try a few. We have included some fine motor activities which help the children to focus on their pencil control, cutting and handwriting skills.
