Enhanced Learning

As a school, we are determined to ensure the children still get the educational experiences they deserve despite not being able to go on visits due to the situation regarding COVID-19.

During our Spring topic 'Strikes and Flying Pickets', the children were able to experience a visit from Mr Wall who previously worked in a coal mine. Mr Wall explained what his job was like and gave a fantastic description of how small the spaces were within the mine and how long of a day he worked for. 

The children had some absolutely fantastic questions to ask him and were so intrigued by all of the responses gained. They loved seeing the equipment that Mr Wall would have used during his work in the mines and they couldn't believe how heavy the battery was that he would have had on his person. 

It truly was a great experience and the children loved hearing about the mines from a previous miner!
