Gaming Online

🎮 Safe Gaming

  • Only play age-appropriate games.

  • Never chat to people you don’t know.

  • Always check with an adult before spending money online.

✅ Key Safety Tips to Remember

Here are some rules you might follow when gaming that help you stay safe and have fun:

  1. Keep personal info private
Don’t share things like your full name, address, school name, phone number, or birthday with people you don’t know.

  2. Use safe usernames & pictures
Choose something that doesn’t give away too much (like your name or where you live). Use pictures that are safe, kind, and don’t show too much personal info.

  3. Use privacy & security settings
Many games have settings to control who can contact you, who can see what you’re doing, who can join your game. Make them as private as possible.

  4. Think before chatting
If the game has a chat, voice or text, be kind. Don’t talk to people you don’t know much. If someone says something that makes you feel uncomfortable, tell a trusted adult.

  5. Watch out for in-game purchases & ads
Some games let you buy things with real money (skins, coins, boosts). Make sure you ask a parent first. Also, be careful with adverts—some might try to trick you (“Click here to win!”) or take you outside the game.

  6. Game in common areas
If possible, play in a room where a grown-up can see or hear what you’re doing. That way if anything happens, someone can help.

  7. Speak up if you’re worried
If something happens in a game that upsets you, or someone does something weird, tell a parent, teacher, or another adult you trust. You won’t get in trouble for telling. It’s better to talk so you can stay safe.
