Welcome to Clowne Junior School

XXXXXXXXXXXX

I am absolutely thrilled as Headteacher to welcome you to Clowne Junior School’s new website, which offers a window into the vibrant life of our school community.

Since taking on the privilege of leading this fantastic school in 2019, I have been immensely proud of everything our pupils and staff achieve together. Clowne Junior is a warm, aspirational place where children love to learn and turn up with a smile each day. That dedication truly shows—our SATs results consistently sit above the national average, reflecting our hard work and commitment to academic achievement.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, inspectors recognised that our pupils display positive attitudes to learning, feel safe and well cared for, and benefit from a broad curriculum where staff help them know more and remember more. They noted that our children are polite, welcoming, and show a genuine pride in their school community.

At the heart of everything we do are our C.L.O.W.N.E. core values.

We value strongly our role within the community, working together for the success and happiness of all our pupils. If you would like to come and see what Clowne Junior School can offer your child, please give us a call on 01246 810416 — a warm welcome is guaranteed!

Curriculum Our drivers and the rational for our choices are:

  • our curriculum Globalisation

Our learners are growing up in an ever-more interconnected global community. They need to understand their place in it and their impact upon it.

  • our curriculum Adaptability

Our learners live in a location that has undergone significant change. They need to understand how their local area has adapted and developed so that it is able to contribute to the wider community.

  • our curriculum Explorations

Our curriculum encourages learners to look beyond their immediate surroundings, helping them to appreciate the value of discovery and the personal growth that comes from experiencing the wider world.

  • our curriculum Power

Our curriculum is committed to broadening our learners' perspectives by connecting their local context to the diverse cultural and political landscapes of the United Kingdom both present and past.
