Read first scene setter and imagine how it would look on stage or in a film. Read the rest of Act One- Scene One.
This story was made for the stage and when you read it, it won’t be like reading the traditional stories they are used to. Read Scene 2.
Create a page of the things you see in play scripts that differs from traditional stories. You could split you page down the middle, do two thought bubbles or draw a table to compare. Also, think about how they are read (you need even more expression as essentially this is just a long book of people talking!)
