Working together for success and happiness

Reading

Today, we are continuing to read THE STORY OF BAUCIS AND PHILOMEN.

READING SKILL: PREDICTING

Task 1:

Remind yourself of what we read yesterday in Scene 1. You could jot this down or have a conversation with someone at home.

Task 2:

Read Scenes 2 AND 3 carefully.

PLEASE DON'T READ ON.

Task 3:

After reading SCENES 1, 2 AND 3, what do you PREDICT is going to happen next?

Remember a GOOD PREDICTION uses clues from what we have read so far and what we know about the characters and is sensible so that it fits with the text.

When writing your prediction, think about the P E E approach.

  • Make a POINT.
  • Find EVIDENCE from the previous scenes to back up your thoughts.
  • Then link these together by EXPLAINING what you mean.

e.g.

I think ........... will happen because in the text it says......... This means that ..........
